Dear West Elementary Families,

It’s hard to believe we are heading into the final stretch of the school year! March is such an important month: routines are set, confidence is building, and our students are showing just how much they’ve grown. This is the time to finish strong.

🌟 Celebrate the Growth

Take a moment to reflect on where your child started in August and where they are now.
Maybe they:

Read their very first chapter book

Mastered tricky math facts

Learned to solve conflicts independently

Found the courage to raise their hand in class

Growth doesn’t just show up on report cards. It shows up in confidence, resilience, and kindness. We are so proud of the progress our students have made, and we hope you are celebrating those wins at home, too!

📚 Looking Ahead to Next Year

As we move into spring, our teachers will begin the thoughtful and careful process of building class lists for next year. Please know:

This process takes many factors into consideration, including academic needs, learning styles, peer dynamics, and balanced classrooms.

We do not take specific teacher requests.

Our staff spends a great deal of time collaborating to ensure each child is placed in an environment where they can thrive. We truly value your trust in this process and are committed to doing what is best for all students.

🏁 Finish Strong

The final months of school matter. Attendance, effort, and positive attitudes make a difference! Encourage your child to:

Stay focused

Keep reading nightly

Practice math facts

Show kindness daily

Take pride in their hard work

We can do hard things, and we can finish what we start!

Your support makes all the difference. Let’s make these last months meaningful, joyful, and strong.

With gratitude,

Libby McNamara

Great Expectations

Bixby is a Great Expectations district, and West Elementary has been a Model School since we opened our doors. Here are a few ways to talk about Great Expectations at home with your child.
