On behalf of the entire West Elementary family: welcome to the BEST. SCHOOL. YEAR. EVER. We’re counting down the days until our hallways are buzzing with laughter, learning, and little feet again! As principal, I can confidently say there’s no better place to be than Bixby, especially here at West. I may be biased, but our staff is truly next-level: creative, compassionate, dedicated, and full of heart. Add in our incredible students and the most supportive families around, and you’ve got something truly special. Thank you for showing up with open arms and open hearts. It’s you, our community, that makes this school such a joyful place to grow, learn, and belong. Let’s make it magical!
As an administrator, I value the partnership between parents and the school. We appreciate your support and help. We would not be nearly as successful without EACH OF YOU. It is a team effort! I'm Libby McNamara, and I’ve had the joy of serving as West Elementary’s principal since we opened in August 2020. I'm a Tulsa native, Bishop Kelley and OSU grad, and proud member of the Spartan family. I love weekends at the lake, Orange Theory, tennis, reading, and hanging out with my wild dog, Murray. Before West, I taught at Jenks East and St. Catherine’s. I split my sports loyalty between Notre Dame and OSU (it’s complicated!). My biggest passions are literacy, building strong school communities, and making these early years as magical as they deserve to be. We know they’re only little once—and it’s an honor to be part of their journey.
I am joined by Mrs. Angela Timmons, who is our Assistant Principal. Mrs. Timmons also spent some time in Jenks at Jenks West Elementary before joining the Spartan family in 2020. Mrs. Timmons is a proud mom of two adult children and has been married to Andrew for 27 years. She is a busy Gigi who adores her granddaughters, Addi (9) and Ceci (4 months). Mrs. Timmons loves the lake, her animals, spending time with friends, playing pickleball, reading, and being with her family on vacation. Mrs. Timmons is passionate about math, science, and technology, as well as helping your child build relationships among staff and friends.
In the coming days, it is essential to remember that we have many new students and parents joining the West Elementary Family; your patience is greatly appreciated, especially in the car line and on the first few days of school. I assure you that by Labor Day, we will have this all sorted out, and the kinks will be mostly worked out. As we move through the year, I implore you always to assume the best of other families, students, staff members, and one another. We are all navigating life together, and your kindness is appreciated.
