Dear West Elementary Families,
I hope you found time to enjoy the recent snowfall with your kids! It was beautiful snow, and thankfully (for me), it was gone almost as quickly as it arrived. The excitement in the building when the first flakes began to fall was amazing. We love sharing these moments with your children!
I challenge you to press the reset button this school year and refocus your family expectations. We expect each child to read independently or with someone else for at least 20 minutes a day outside of school. This should be for fun! If you haven't already checked out the Tulsa County Library, they have a superb selection of paper and audiobooks. Try having your child listen to an audiobook while following along with the paper copy. Watch their comprehension and fluency grow!
We hope you can all attend the first annual West Trivia Night, which is sure to be a memorable night of fun, fellowship, and support for two amazing schools! More information can be found below.
Wishing You Well,
Libby McNamara
