Dear West Elementary Families,
January was a tough year but we made it! :) Whew. Snow days, sickness, indoor recess and so much more. Hats off to our amazing staff members and students who rolled with it. I know that I am not the only one hoping for more sunny days, less sickness, and spring weather!
How is the reading challenge going? Twenty minutes of reading every night doesn't seem like a lot until you're in the middle of everything else life throws at you. We know it isn't easy but I applaud you for keeping the momentum up. We look forward to celebrating your children at parent conferences in March. As you know, our teachers are always available to discuss concerns or celebrations. Please do not feel that you need to wait until conferences!
As we get into the spring semester, we all get a little lax about some procedures but I would like to remind you that you will always need a government-issued ID to check a child out and a transportation tag or pre-registration link for parties. Our school doors do not open until 7:30 in the morning. Please do not leave your child unattended! It's important to remember to think of the other cars behind you in the car line and pull all the way forward. Our goal is to get all children into school quickly but safely.
Wishing You Well,
Libby McNamara
