West Elementary Families,
THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL!! We have had an incredible week getting to know your student(s) and spending time with them! Thank you for following arrival and dismissal procedures, having transportation tags on backpacks, and setting an example of bravery and respect. We appreciate you!
Just to remind you, today was the last day to come through the front doors and walk your child to class. Beginning Monday, we encourage you to drop your student off in the car loop. We will have adults ready to help get students out of the car if needed. Additionally, we have adults inside the front doors prepared to escort students to class. From now on, if you plan to walk your child to class, you will need to check in at the office before 7:50 with a government-issued ID.
Please make a point to have at least one adult per family unit attend Parent Orientation on Tuesday, August 27th. This is an event for parents to hear about the year ahead from their child's classroom teacher. We ask that you make other arrangements for your child if possible.
This year, classroom teachers will present their information three times. We hope you can make it to multiple classrooms if needed or find a time that meets your needs. Please join us for presentations beginning at 5:30, 6, and 6:30 in your child or children's homerooms.
Please, please, please label all of the belongings your child brings to school. We tend to collect water bottles especially. We need the first and last name in order to get them home.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend,
Libby McNamara
