Attendance is the most important metric for performance both academically and in sports performance training. Any time a student misses school, or a workout, they are creating a deficit which then must be overcome.

Our Mission Statement:

“Bixby Strength and Conditioning is committed to maximizing every student athlete's potential and developing their mind and body using holistic and research informed training methods with an emphasis on process over outcome. We will be known in Oklahoma as developing the most well-rounded athletes as well as training the greatest number of student athletes in Oklahoma. “

Attendance and a healthy routine including good time management are key to being successful. Talk with your student each day about their workload. Help them organize and come up with a plan to get it all done. This may include quickly looking over notes during lunch, or using their extra 10 minutes at the end of one class to finish homework from another class. Help them get in the habit of reviewing their day and making a mental "to do" list. Also help your student to begin utilizing a calendar. As they get older and there are more deadlines in their lives such as scholarships and college applications, it is easy to forget important dates. Teach them to look at their calendar each day and start with a plan, adjust that plan as needed, and follow through.

Students must be Eligible to Play!

Weekly grade checks will determine if a player is eligible to play. Weekly checks will begin September 12th for first semester. Grades are checked every week on Thursday night and this determines eligibility for the next week, Monday thru Sunday. Here is how eligibility works...

  • 6 Week Ineligible: If a student fails two or more classes at the end of a semester, they are ineligible to play for the first six weeks of the next semester.

  • Probation: If a student is failing ANY class when grades are checked on Thursday night, then they are on probation for one week (Monday thru Sunday). They can still practice and they can still play.

  • Ineligible: If a student is failing ANY class when grades are checked Thursday night after having been on probation (week 2 of failing any class), they are ineligible to play the next Monday thru Sunday. They can still practice, but they cannot participate in any way in competition. This means they cannot be in uniform, be on the sidelines/bench, or travel with the team.
