Students wanting to attend tutoring during zero hour Strength and Conditioning must have approval from their coach, or have checked in with Coach Myers. Coaches can email Coach Myers when a student has permission to attend tutoring. If a student has not been given permission to attend tutoring, then they may be marked absent from Strength and Conditioning.
Injured athletes must check in with the Athletic Trainers who will communicate training levels with Coach Myers.
As our 2025 Seniors graduate, we will be looking to fill some student athletic trainer spots for the 2025-26 school year. Being a student athletic trainer is a big responsibility with lots of hours outside of the school day, but can be very rewarding and a great experience for anyone looking to pursue a career in the medical field. If you are interested, then print and fill out the following application. Within the application is a QR code where you can upload photos of your final application for submission.
Student Athletic Trainer Application for 2025-26
We are open Monday-Friday from 7:15-9:30am at Home of the Spartans, just off the first floor lobby in the Athletic Training Room. We require all in-season injured athletes to attend these morning treatments. Morning treatments provide an opportunity for us to evaluate and make a plan for injuries so athletes can attend their 6th hour athletics period and not miss vital practice time. If an athlete is enrolled in zero hour strength & conditioning, they need to arrive at 7:15am so we have time to evaluate their injury. Middle school athletes are welcome to come to morning treatments Monday and Wednesday. If more treatments are needed, the athlete will need to sign up with the QR code for treatments on Tuesday and Thursday after school. The sign up must be made at a minimum 24 hours in advance.

Maintain a Strong Academic Standing: Your athletic prowess may draw the spotlight, but don’t neglect your academics! Keeping your GPA in tip-top shape is crucial. College coaches are looking for recruits who’ve already demonstrated the ability to juggle the demands of high-level athletics and academics. They know these athletes are more likely to stay out of trouble and make the most of their abilities. Additionally, a strong GPA can earn you scholarship money and open the admissions door at a wider variety of schools. So work to be that candidate who shines both in your sport and in the classroom. What you do off the field, court, etc. is just as important as what you do on it.
With second semester in full swing, Counselors are already gearing up to meet with students about next year's classes. Make sure you are planning ahead if you want to play your sport at the next level. NCAA has academic requirements that students must meet in order to play in college. Visit this LINK to get a general overview of those initial eligibility standards. If you have further questions, please email Stephanie Butler at stephaniebutler@bixbyps.org.
Don't forget about Bixby's Academic Advisory Night on February 6th from 6 to 8 pm in the new High School building. This evening of information will be focused on students entering grades 9-12 for the 2025-2026 school year.
Bixby Middle School has after school homework help available for their students!
