Dear Spartan Families,
As the holiday season approaches, we are excited to once again launch our district-wide effort, Spartans Serving Spartans, to foster the spirit of togetherness and support within our community. This initiative exists to ensure that every Spartan family experiences the warmth, comfort, and joy of the season.
This year, you will notice a few thoughtful updates designed to better meet the unique needs of our families — and to help us serve more households than ever before.
You may see that our sign-ups include fewer items than in previous years. That is because each participating family was able to share their specific needs rather than receiving a standard list. This new approach ensures families receive exactly what will benefit them most.
We are also deeply grateful for a new community partner who has stepped in to make a Season of Giving Holiday Shoppe available to the entire Bixby Community. This shop will provide winter-wear essentials and home and household items to support our families. Their support comes at a crucial time, as we have over 100 additional families participating compared to last year. By covering many of the items that previously appeared on our sign-ups, the Holiday Shoppe allows us to serve more families during what has become a difficult season for many.
Additionally, we have streamlined monetary donations through our PTOs, who play an essential role in coordinating and supporting this effort. This year, we will have one unified donation link, allowing families to contribute easily and even direct their gift to a specific school site if they choose. The Spartans Serving Spartans team will use these funds to fulfill items on the sign-ups. Once all sites have had their needs met, any remaining funds will roll over to next year’s program to continue supporting families next December.
