The district plans to get ahead of the calendar game and approve the 26-27 Academic Calendar this spring! Our goal is to have the current year, plus two years ahead, posted on our website.
Did you know there are several factors and specific parameters that determine how our calendar can be constructed? For example:
Due to funding rules, the district cannot exceed 30 school days for students prior to October 1st! This parameter locks in the options for when our first day can occur.
Teachers must work 178 contract days (this includes PD Days).
Students must attend 1,080 hours of instruction according to state law.
Hours exceeding this number serve as a "buffer" or, as some like to call them, "built-in days" for possible weather-related or other emergency school closures.
