Farewell Message from Principal Truel

Greetings East Intermediate Families!

As we step into the month of May, and we prepare to close the books on another wonderful year together, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support, commitment, and your investment of time, resources and "heart" in all that we have accomplished together this school year!

It has been a wonderful year of many new beginnings from the opening of our brand new gymnasium to the welcoming of some extraordinary new faculty members, just as it has been an amazing year of carrying on the East traditions which we have built together over the course of the past six years. With that, I would like to take this opportunity to let you know that I have selected this year, 2024-2025 to be my final year at  Bixby East Intermediate. I have truly cherished every moment spent and every memory made during my tenure as your school principal. As I prepare to step away from my role as principal at East Intermediate, I want to express my deepest gratitude for the opportunity to serve this incredible community. Over the years, I’ve been continually inspired by our students’ resilience, the unwavering support of our families, and the dedication of our staff.

This decision did not come lightly, but I’m excited to explore new ventures in educational leadership—ventures which will allow me to grow both personally and professionally while continuing to advocate for meaningful learning.

East Intermediate will always hold a special place in my heart. I leave with many cherished memories, a deep respect for our school community, and confidence in the strong foundation we've built together.

As I say goodbye after six wonderful years as your principal, I want to thank you for the trust, support, and partnership you've shown me. It has been a true privilege to lead this incredible school and watch your children grow into confident, capable learners.

I’ll always treasure the memories and the sense of community we’ve built together. Though I’m moving on, East Intermediate will always hold a special place in my heart.

I am so thankful for each of you, and I wish you and your students the very best for a very bright future.

Forever a Spartan.....

~Wendy Truel, Principal

Hey Superstars! 🌟

Can you believe the school year is almost over? You’ve worked so hard, learned so much, and grown in amazing ways—I'm SO proud of you! 💪 Let’s finish strong by being kind, staying focused, and giving your best every day. Remember, the last weeks of school are a chance to show what you’ve learned and celebrate your success!

As summer approaches, here are some fun and relaxing activities to keep your brain and heart happy:

🎨 Try a new art project (chalk art, painting, or homemade crafts!)
📚 Read a few books from the library or start your own summer reading challenge
🌳 Explore nature—go on a bug hunt, start a garden, or build a bird feeder
🧩 Keep your brain sharp with puzzles, games, or even making your own board game
💬 Practice kindness—write letters to friends or help someone in your family
🏃‍♂️ Stay active with bike rides, dance parties, or backyard obstacle courses

Most of all—have fun, stay safe, and know that I’m so proud of you. You’ve got this! 💖

Love,
Mrs. A

Student Drop Off & Pick Up

Please help us to keep our school parking area, transition areas and students and staff members safe by only utilizing the main drop-off/pick-up area in front of our main entrance. Students should not be dropped off in the middle lot south of the Intermediate and adjacent to the Elementary playground (near the waste dumpsters, etc.) unless approved by site administration for special situations. Additionally, please keep your speed at a safe speed. Thank you for your help.
