HELP NEEDED!

We absolutely LOVE our new gymnasium, and we are excited about the reclaimed parking area just West of the gym area, but unfortunately, several nails were left behind from the construction equipment from when the gym was built.

So....We wanted to reach out to YOU, our EI families, specifically to anyone who may own a roofing company or a construction company who may have a Rolling Magnet Sweeper. We would love to be able to utilize the sweeper to sweep the area to remove the remaining nails so that our teachers and guests do not get nails in the tires of their vehicles while parking in the new area? If you can help---please call Principal Truel at 918. 366.1755.

Thank you!!!!

Positive Post-It Notes!

We recently launched our positivity campaign at East Intermediate! Thanks to the special suggestion made by BEI 5th Grader, Tess Struttmann, we launched our "Postive Post-It Note" initiative! Students and teachers have taken the time to leave positive notes for individual students, staff members or our school as a whole with this special activity! Positive Post-It Boards have now been placed around the school for all to utilize to share these positive thoughts with one another!

*We have a small supply of post-its to get started, but we would love any post-it note donations as well! Please send blank post-it note pads to the front office, if possible! Thank you for helping us to share these positivity with our EI friends and family! This has been such a wonderful initiative!!

Counselor's Corner

Greetings East Intermediate Families!

We are continuing our focus on self-care this month and healthy habits for our students this year! We also want to focus on developing safe and healthy digital habits.

Self-care is a conscious effort to take care of your mental, physical, emotional, and social health.

Create a Self-Care Plan:

  • Identify areas of your life that need attention- ie: physical health, mental well-being, social connections, and personal interests.

  • Prioritize Rest and Sleep-establish a consistent sleep schedule

  • Practice Mindfulness and Meditation-set aside time each day to reflect

  • Healthy Eating Habits-pay attention to your eating habits

  • Physical Activity-find an activity you enjoy to keep your body moving

  • Disconnect from Technology-unplug for a set time period each day

  • Nurture Relationships-foster positive relationships and build a support system

  • Set Boundaries-learn to say no, and prioritize your time and energy

  • Engage in Hobbies-make time for things that interest you and bring you joy

  • Reflect and Journal-reflect on your thoughts and feelings express gratitude

  • Professional Self-Care-create a healthy work-life balance; ask for help when needed

  • Celebrate Achievements-recognize your efforts and progress toward your goals

Self-care is a personal journey, so what works for one person may differ from another.   Tailor these suggestions to fit your needs and preferences, and use March as an opportunity to kickstart a self-care routine.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful March!

Student Drop Off & Pick Up

Please help us to keep our school parking area, transition areas and students and staff members safe by only utilizing the main drop-off/pick-up area in front of our main entrance. Students should not be dropped off in the middle lot south of the Intermediate and adjacent to the Elementary playgound (near the waste dumpsters, etc.) unless approved by site admistration for special situations. Thank you for your help.
