School Lunch and Food Delivery News!

school news

Please see the following reminders and updates, included below,  in regards to school lunches, parent lunch visits and  food deliveries:

Parents Who Wish to Join Their Child for Lunch:

As always, we gladly  and openly welcome parents to join us for any and all school-wide events, and especially any and all opportunities for parents to join their child for lunch!💚

  • We love to see you and we know your child loves to have you visit them as well!

  • We are so lucky to have the space in our cafeteria for visitors, when other sites do not…so please come join us, any time!

  • We just ask that if  you plan to join your child for school lunch or you plan to bring your child lunch from an outside venue during your visit, please remember to bring lunch for only your child.  Thank you!
Parent Visitation Guidelines: BPS Board Policy 3114

Food Delivery Services from Outside Entities:

  • We have seen a significant increase in outside food deliveries from GrubHub, UberEats,etc..

  • We will no longer be accepting these deliveries.

  • It has become impossible for our front office staff to organize and coordinate these deliveries for students while balancing other school office tasks and operations.

  • Additionally, we are not able to ensure that food will be  delivered promptly or on time, which causes interruptions to our office staff duties and classroom instructional time.

  • Furthermore, this time lapse could also result in food safety deterioration and unhealthy conditions.

Please do not send breakfast items, coffee items, lunch items or any other food items to your student via food delivery service.

Thanks so much for your help!

Winter Temperatures and Outside Recess

Winter Temperatures & Outside Recess

With the cooler temperatures, please make certain that your child is dressed warm enough to go outside for recess. Students will enjoy outside recess most days. Inside recess will be determined by inclement weather or an outside temperature below 30° F wind chill.

Positive Post-It Notes!

We are excited to launch a positivity campaign at East Intermediate this semester! Thanks to the special suggestion by BEI 5th Grader, Tess Struttmann, we will launch our "Postive Post-It Note" initiative! Students and teachers will take time to leave positive notes for individual students, staff members or our school as a whole with this special activity! Positive Post-It Boards will be placed around the school for all to utilize to share these positive thoughts with one another!

*We have a small supply of post-its to get started, but we would love any post-it note donations as well! Please send blank post-it note pads to the front office, if possible! Thank you for helping us to share these positivity with our EI friends and family!

Counselor's Corner

new year

Happy New Year! In the spirit of new beginnings, let's encourage our young learners to embrace the concept of New Year's resolutions.

Guide students in identifying areas of personal growth, whether it's improving focus in class, being more mindful of their words and actions, or fostering strong and supportive friendships. Through engaging activities and thoughtful discussions, we can work to empower our students to take ownership of their resolutions and nurture their goals throughout the year.

Discuss the power of setting realistic and achievable goals.  This helps children understand that small, intentional actions can lead to significant positive changes in their lives.

Wishing you and your family a joyful and peaceful new year!

Warm regards,
Melanie Ankersheil

Student Drop Off & Pick Up

Please help us to keep our school parking area, transition areas and students and staff members safe by only utilizing the main drop-off/pick-up area in front of our main entrance. Students should not be dropped off in the middle lot south of the Intermediate and adjacent to the Elementary playgound (near the waste dumpsters, etc.) unless approved by site admistration for special situations. Thank you for your help.
