Calling all EI "Dyamic Dads!"

DYNAMIC DADS

Calling all EI "Dynamic Dads!!"

We have already enjoyed a wonderful response from our EI dads for this special programming! (Thank you, Dads!!)

It's not too late to sign up! We would love to have you join us out on our playground for some fun with football, basketball, soccer and extra supervision!

We have a great team on duty out there, too, we just thought it would be fun to invite some of our amazing dads in to join us! (Your kids will LOVE it!)

If you are interested, please call or email Wendy Truel (918-366-1755 or wtruel@bixbyps.org). We would love to have you join us once a week or once a month...or just as often as your schedule allows!

All volunteers will need to be BEST trained, but that is a super simple process

Thank you to our awesome dads who have already signed up! The kids LOVE having you out there with them!

Counselor's Corner

Happy December, families!

This month, our focus is on gratitude as we approach the holiday season. We’re encouraging students to think about ways they practice gratitude at school, at home, and in their community.

In our community time lessons, we’ll discuss:

  • The importance of recognizing and appreciating the good around us.

  • Simple acts of kindness that can brighten someone’s day.

Here are some ways you can reinforce these ideas at home:

  1. Gratitude Jar: Create a family jar where everyone can write something they’re thankful for each day.

  2. Acts of Kindness Challenge: Encourage your child to complete small, thoughtful tasks like helping a sibling or writing a thank-you note.

  3. Holiday Conversations: Talk about the true spirit of the season—giving, sharing, and caring for others.

If your child is feeling overwhelmed during this busy time, remind them to take slow, deep breaths and talk about their feelings. My door is always open if they need extra support.

Wishing you and your family a joyful and peaceful holiday season!
