Dear East Elementary Parents,
We are thrilled to welcome you and your child to the start of the 2024-2025 school year at East Elementary! Tomorrow marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, and we are looking forward to a year filled with learning, growth, and memorable experiences.
Parent Access for the First Three Days
For the first three days of school, parents are welcome to walk their child to class from 7:30- 7:50. To do so, you must have either a current 2024-2025 car tag or check in through the office with a valid ID. If you have not yet picked up your car tag, we will have a pick-up station set up to assist you. Please remember that a current tag is required for entry.
New Safety Measures: School Safe ID Program
This year, we have transitioned to the School Safe ID program, which we will use for car tags, backpack tags, and afternoon dismissal procedures. If you did not receive your car tag during our Meet the Teacher event, please visit the pick-up station to obtain it.
On the first day of school, your child’s teacher will add a 2024-2025 backpack tag to their bag. These tags are a crucial part of our safety and dismissal procedures, so it is important that they remain on your child’s backpack throughout the school year.
First Week Dismissal: Colored Wristbands
As an added safety measure, your child will come home with a colored wristband for the first five days of school. These wristbands help us ensure that students are dismissed to the correct locations as we learn and refine our procedures. While we encourage students to keep their wristbands on, if one gets lost or torn, we will provide a replacement the following day.
We appreciate your cooperation and support as we work together to make this school year a safe and successful one for all of our students. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to our office.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. We can’t wait to see all the bright faces tomorrow morning!
