Happy October Central Elementary families! I know I say this every month but this school year is FLYING BY already! I love the colder weather so bring on fall!
We had a very busy September month with Labor Day, parent orientation, getting acclimated to our routines, Amira and IXL benchmarking and Donuts with Grown Ups! We enjoyed seeing our families during many of these events.
Central Elementary does have lunch procedures that I need for everyone to know. With 5 lunch periods, lunch time must follow a very predictable pattern of times and expectations. We really have to stay on schedule. We love to have families on special occasions. If you do decide to eat with your student, please remember our lunch times as well as the expectations set in our student handbook (below). There is no sharing of lunches (school lunch) with adults and please limit pictures to just your child. We have strict guidelines on lunch/breakfasts and students with allergies so you may bring lunch for your own child but not for other children unless cleared by the office first.
Student Handbook page 2: "Due to concerns over seating capacities in several of our cafeterias, the district reserves the right to limit the number and frequency of parent visits during their child’s lunch period. To assist with managing our lunchrooms, parents are expected to contact the school office by 9:30 am if they wish to eat lunch with their child."
Parent Teacher conferences are coming up at the end of the month. We want to make sure we meet with every parent to discuss your child's progress and success. Your teacher should be reaching out very soon (if they haven't already) to schedule a conference with you.
Lastly, Spartan Warrior is coming up! It is our PTO/CE fundraiser. This fundraiser will provide our teachers with grants as well as the school with big projects. For the last two years, PTO has teamed with CE to build our outdoor garden space. Students will participate in the Spartan Warrior challenge on October 2nd and the fundraiser runs through the end of month.
Happy fall!
