Hello CE parents!
I know I say this EVERY single month but wow this year is flying by. We had a very busy February. We had lots of visitors and programs that occurred in this month. We had Kimberly Clark come and help our third graders make paper. As you can see above they had their total attention. Also....Kindergarten went to the Discovery Museum. They had a blast!!
We begin our very busy spring season. First up is the Flamingo Bingo--- always a popular event. It is NOT at Central Elementary but at the Sunny Rae Room in Downtown Bixby. Please see flyer below for specific information. We also have Parent Teacher Conferences coming up soon. We want to make sure we connect with each of you. Please make sure you have made your conference time with your teacher.
I'd also like to take a minute to congratulate our Support Staff of the Year. This is a huge accomplishment. She was voted by her peers as a perfect example of our support staff. Congratulations to Cing Niang. This is her second year to be at CE. She has wonderful experience with students, military and provides translation services. She is a delight, fun and smiles constantly! She is also trilingual. She is kind of a big deal!
Valentines' Parties were a success! Thank you so much for helping us put in more security safety measures during those parties. We will continue with those measures. Again.. thank you for taking the extra steps .
Lastly, since my retirement announcement I've had so many parents and students contact me and share so many nice thoughts. Thank YOU! It has been a privilege to lead Central Elementary for so many years. It takes a village to help students learn and certainly I could not do my job without a wonderful staff and community to help all students grow and learn. It is hard to imagine at 39 (a student said I was this age) that I can retire! Haha. That student received an extra Central Cash ticket. :) As we progress through the hiring process and a new leader is selected we will keep you informed.
We have started to include our flyers as full pages. It is much easier to read. Thanks for the suggestion.
Happy spring!
